Red 25 & Silver

 We are going backwards today and saving the best for last because another platform I wanted to post on has just gone wonky on me today.  Two things recently have me wanting to blog.  One is a friend who is a writer is encouraging folks on bluesky to blog.  The other is the world's most interesting robotocist is starting a meetup group to introduce people to Houston and to public transportation in Houston.  Mike, Spud and the whole group are great

Now add to that we have recently gotten our Q cards made + 70 which means we ride for free bt we had not been riding.  Above you see the 25 bus and maybe you can see a second 25 cameling to take us back to Wheeler Station and The Ion.
That would be the Silver Line BRT Southbound at San Felipe to take us to meet up with the 25 on Richmond.  Wife used to work for Aon in one of those shiny buildings.  If I were a proper writer I might be more descriptive.

Beg buttons were not working but we got here anyway.  So - I suppose - along the way here I should mention that the ride along Richmond Avenue goes recently back to a conversation that actually began forty five years ago when I was working at Arrow Graphics.  It rose up again a week ago as the cost of the Silver Line was being disparaged and the current lack of ridership being put forth as a call yo all things NIMBY with a challenge to Go Ride the Silver Line.  It goes back even further though to fifty years ago when I was at the University of Houston and the Houston bus system was strictly spokes out of downtown.  If you wanted to go across town you had to go downtown and transfer or ride forever on what they called the two loop buses.  The crosstown route that I advocated for then is now the 25.  It is proposed to become part of the University Line

Facebook Post Making a post but I think I have choosen the format wrong.    Ah here we go, compose view.  And we begin as if we are exiting by all that candy and the General Store check out stand.  Someone with me wanted candy bars and also boudain. Brisket has a nice spicyness in the rub and this food riding home with us reminded us constantly that it had spent time low and slow with a lot of smoke mixing with the fat and muscle. There is a lot to have there and a lot to see.ee Now, I have had my supper sandwich of brisket on a slice of bread with mayo.  Very nice.

Firefighters STEM & Robotics

So what a crazy Saturday this has been.  That guy sitting there in the chair grinning at you had two other places in his mind to go as well as these three today but luckily his arithmetic skills diverted him.  Then the phone did not want to upload photos so he took that selfie and magic let all the photos be uploaded but not the same magic for the videos but maybe the stuff going out to the cloud and the Mac in the back room will play nice in a day or so. In the meanwhile we took our stations in a quiet garden off JFK and Beltway 8 I was on a bench in the garden and Cheryl was recruited to place a helmet but I yhought she was placing a rose so I missed that picture. There is pride and solemnness as the bell ceremony id performed for all the firefighters who have passed in the line of duty.  You can see part of the pipes here Councilmember Peck says some words After that ceremony and hopefully I can get the videos loaded on You Tube we went Downtown for energy day but obv...

So there is not a lot to say slice of bread, a bit of sauce, half a slice of brisket my wife was loving it Yes they have wonderful sides This is not about that, this is about going out to get covid test kits, not having the right card with me, going to get biscotti at Trader Joe's, checking Walgreens on the way back, getting a few other things we need. Stopping on the way home and getting one pound of center cut brisket. 10 pm bread, mayo, brisket, smell of smoke is nice, cold brisket, prime, my teeth and tongue enjoy the marbled meat. Smoked enough to fill the air, rub is likely standard sugar, salt, black pepper and another pepper with some heat but nothing major. Posted on twitter Forgot the distilled water but my stomach is full and the right card is in my wallet.
